An A3 sheet containing GCSE style questions relating to the design of products. These questions relate to processes of manufacturing materials and ergonomic design. This sheet is supported by a YouTube walkthrough and also a clip relating to ergonomics of barbeque tools.

Create a Scary Space Monster
An A3 worksheet on the topic of computer game design. This sheet would support a lesson in Design and Technology or Art subject areas. This would make an ideal lesson as part of a computer game design project, or as a standalone or cover lesson. The object of the lesson is to design a monster character for a space themed computer game. The student’s are prompted on the sheet to consider the features of the monster that will make the game more interesting and enjoyable to play. There is also a link on the sheet to possible career paths for game design included in the sheet which could promote classroom discussion or be utilised prior to the end of KS3 options.
Industrial production for A level Product Design
A set of seven A4 sheets that cover industrial production, lean manufacturing, and just in time manufacturing. These comprise a mix of exam type questions and scaffolding for note taking. I created these to work with the clips on my Youtube channel. This resource can be used in a Product design lesson in the classroom. Alternatively they could be set as home learning to consolidate the knowledge by providing the students with sheets and embedding the clips from Youtube into a Google classroom.

A complete resource for students to complete a home learning task to understand the process of converting iron ore into steel. With a limited time to cover all areas of the specification for GCSE Design and Technology, Product Design or Engineering, it is useful to set some of the required areas for home learning tasks. This resource contains an A3 working sheet and an additional A4 support sheet which highlights the 5 main stages of the production of steel from iron ore. The home learning task is also supported by a Youtube clip which I created to provide additional support for students. You get;

This resource is a longer response type of A level Product design question, This question relates to consumer safety features of the UK three pin electrical plug. When answering this type of question many students, despite producing paragraphs of text fail to gain the full mark available for the question. This consists of two A3 sheets one is a question sheet and the second contains full marking guidance from the examiner, for the exam. Specialist Design and Technology Equipment is a common theme for examiners in GCSE D&T and Product Design and the equipment featured in these questions are often featured in past papers.
Here’s a chance to cover these three pieces of equipment in enough detail to enable students to tackle such questions.

An A3 poster which takes a look at two examples of what could be considered postmodern design, by designer Philippe Starck. The two products featured are
the Juicy Salif Lemon Squeezer and the Flos Gun Table Lamp.
The descriptions on the sheet are intended to encourage students to consider influences and functionality of both products. This could be printed A3 as a poster or A4 for a handout to acompany a Product Design lesson.

GCSE D&T Exam Questions Detergent Pod Storage
An set of teaching materials for a complete lesson that investigate the function and sustainability of packaging by making comparisons between two different types of packaging available for clothes washing pods. the sheets contain GCSE style questions relating to the properties of materials and sustainability.
This sheet is supported by a YouTube walkthrough of questions and also a clip explaining the packaging of detergent pods. the main sheet is supplied in A3 or A4 format. there is an additional learning check sheet with two sheets on an A4 sheet, which can be used to check unterstaning the following lesson.

Make a Pizza Box
This sheet provides a net or development for students to create a small functional pizza box. This can be used as part of a food or graphics lesson or a food lesson. The sheet is A3 size and can be copied onto white card, this gives a good size to actually hold a mini pizza.
We have used this in a multi part food lesson in which students can design and make a package and a food product. The sheet gives details of the relevant food packaging information requirements.
There is a Youtube Clip On my channel “ Mr Ridley Design and Technology” showing how to assemble the pizza box. Using a Youtube clip this could be used as cover or home learning.

These are sheets covering clips 1-3 of the words that you need to know.
This resource comprises;
1 x A3 sheet with 18 words
3 x A4 sheets with 6 words each
these can be used as a revision resource, or I use them as home learning by placing the Youtube clip in the classroom, students learn the words and the complete a sheet of six words at the start of the lesson

Exploded Drawing - Draw a clock
This is a drawing exercise for students to create an exploded drawing of clock and mechanism. This resource consists of two A3 drawing sheets. One has a isometric drawing grid, whist one is plain. There is also a further A4 sheet of instructions and keywords to further support learning.
This could be used as a stand alone lesson, as part of a Design and Technology or Engineering scheme of learning. This could also be set as a home learning task by utilising the YouTube clips as step by step tutorial.

Simple to make Warhammer 40k Buildings
These are a set of sheets which give detailed instructions and coloured parts which allow students to manufacture a range of battle damaged Warhammer 40K buildings in a few simple stages. This resource comprises three A3 paper building templates and an A4 sheet of propaganda posters.
These sheets are supported buy a step by step guide to construction which is available to watch on my YouTube channel.
I created these to use with a KS3 Warhammer club but they could be used as a standalone D&T Graphics project perhaps for KS3, there are three building parts to make all of which can be combined to make a 40K cityscape. The three sheets start with a vey basic build progressing to sheet three which is more challenging.

This is an A3 worksheet for GCSE D&T or GCSE engineering. This sheet is intended to work with my Youtube clips on " Types of Metals" and " properties of metals. Together these resources could be used as an introductory lesson on metals. Alternately the sheet could be set for home learning with the two clips below linked in a google classroom.

A home learning resource for GCSE D&T involving a brands investigation. This is a major home learning task that covers brands , typically this could be set over a half term as a longer home learning task. This then covers this area which is a GCSE requirement in all GCSE D&T specifications. Included is an A3 worksheet and a copy of an exemplar completed task.

Ergonomics for GCSE D&T
Worksheets and a learning checklist for GCSE Design and Technology. I created these sheets to cover primarily Ergonomics and Anthropometrics, but they also cover the materials and construction and sustainability of the products featured. There are three accompanying YouTube Clips that cover ergonomics, materials and construction of toothbrushes and bbq tools. An A5 learning checklist is also included for revisiting the subject. Suitable for all GCSE Design and Technology specifications.
